Mark Walker, US Representative for North Carolina’s 6th Congressional
district became involved in security breach of the House of Representatives
SCIF. He and a group of Republican congresspersons stormed in a closed
committee inquiry which was conducting an investigation related to alleged
violations by President Trump. Walker not only delayed the proceedings by five hours, but brought his cell phone into the room with him, resulting in a significant security violation.
Walker has consistently worked against women’s issues, voting against the reauthorization of the Violence Against Women Act, which providing funding towards the investigation and prosecution of violent crimes against women and imposed automatic and mandatory restitution on thioe convicted. He also voted against the amendment to the Act that would authorize federal grants “for the purpose of reducing sexual violence on college campuses.”
